Women and menopause

We often hear older women talk about menopause, because it is a process by which we must necessarily pass. In exchange the keywords appear "no longer good for anything", is considered an old criteria or who have lost abilities as a woman. These misconceptions are always associated with distress, anxiety or depression. Some associate this stage the permanent cessation of menstruation, without considering the social and cultural as well as feelings and emotional reactions associated with this time of life.

The most common warning of the onset of menopause are menstrual disorders; periods may be more scarce or more abundant than usual.  Menstruate early, at irregular intervals and even more than once a month or months without reaching it.

In fact, menopause is called the elimination of menstrual flow and is known as climacteric period comprising some years before and after the cessation of menstruation.

The suppression of menstruation, should not be taken as a symptom of old age, as recommended in this case to cope and give new meaning to life. The advice and supervision of a doctor help mitigate much discomforts of this stage, which need not be considered different from others.
